WHO - This event is for Scouts BSA troops, crews, and ships looking to put their Scout skills to the ultimate test!

WHAT - The Klondike Derby is an annual winter event based on the heritage and history of the Alaskan Gold Rush. The event is designed for patrols to go from station to station with a traditional Klondike sled (called a sledge) to test their skills and leadership ability in the outdoor winter environment.

***Due to the constant changing regulations on in-person gatherings there is a chance this event may not happen, or registration availability will be reduced closer to the event. This is subject to state and local protocols. If registration is reduced, spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis the remainder will be refunded.

WHERE - Camp Cachalot - 1 Scouting Way - Plymouth, MA 02360

(Cachalot is located in Myles Standish State forest - when using GPS – use Myles Standish State Forest location and follow the signs to Cachalot)

Please note: GPS is highly unreliable in the State Forest and you should always stay on approved roadways. 

Check-in at the Visitor Center at the Boat House.

Parking will be located at the Visitor Center parking lot.

WHY -  To compete and show your dominance in Scouting skills competitions! 

WHEN - The Klondike Derby events will start Saturday morning at 8:00 AM. Lunch will be by troop from 12:30 - 1:00 PM. Event ends at 4:00 PM. 

Program - Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM 

Check-in - 6: 45 AM

To participate all Scouts must complete  Narragansett Council COVID-19 Waiver . This form is required at check-in. Scouts without a completed Covid-19 Waiver will not be able to participate.

Troops should register minimally 4 Scouts with a maximum of 8 per sledge. All Scout must be registered through the council website.

Rosters of each sledge will be required by February 25^th, 2021 emailed to T21Somerset@gmail.com

Leader pre-meeting on March 4, 2021 – Registered units will receive a Zoom link a day before the meeting.

Please come dressed in winter weather gear, including face masks!

Lunch should be brought by each individual and should not be shared with others.
