Narragansett Council and Annawon Council BSA have approved Merger. Read Press Release.

I am  very excited and pleased  to announce that the Full Annawon Council has voted to consolidate with the Narragansett Council.  This consolidation will help the Scouting movement in Southeastern Massachusetts.

Many changes will take place while many things will remain the same.  One thing for certain, the program and the values of Scouting will continue to make a difference inthe lives of our youth and our communities.

Thank you to all who helped the process and who asked the hard questions along the way.  Many of you brought up important information, concerns and viewpoints that were invaluable to making informed decisions.

Narragansett Council votes this Thursday night 9/10 on the same consolidation agreement.  From there, the merger needs approval from the state of Massachusettts.  If all goes according to plan, the merger could be official as early as October first.
